Winter sports were in full swing by
the time
February rolled around.
Basketball games were the most popular while golf, tennis, swimming, and the rifle team matches were all well attended. |

Rifle inspections were on Mondays

February 12th. brought five
lovely young
ladies and "mother" Carmack out to sponsor the companies and staff at
the
annual St. Valentine's Day parade. After the parade, a "Tea" was
held for the parents and sponsors in the Venice Building.

The next weekend a St. Valentine's dance was held at the Venice building patio and sponsored by a cadet company. |

The Sarasota pageant parade
occurred soon
after the Gasparillo parade. The whole corps of cadets were
loaded
up in buses and driven to Sarasota to participate. 100 "Best
Company"
points were awarded for this parade! During the Coronation Ball, our officers acted as honor guard for the King and Queen of the Sarasota pageant. Blind dates were provided!... |
